Cheap Hotels in London

When planning a weekend away or a break in another city, it can often be difficult to find travel plans that are cheap. Getting to and from the place in question can often end up expensive, and having to pay a massive amount for transport can spoil what could otherwise be a wonderful and not too expensive trip. However, there are various things that can be done that will reduce to travel costs, and this obviously means that more money can be spent on attractions and other things when the destination has been reached.

When travelling to London, it is advisable to avoid using trains, unless the tickets have been booked very far in advance. Trains, especially when the tickets are bought on the day at the station, can often by very expensive. However, they can be cheap if tickets are booked in advance. A better option might be the Megabus, which will take a bit longer than the train, but on the other hand will be a lot cheaper. Return to London on the Megabus can cost as little as £1 for a return ticket, and the bus runs from almost all large towns and cities in the United Kingdom. It departs and arrives at London Victoria Coach Station, in the north west of the city.

When in London the best way to travel cheaply is on the tube, and the best way to do this is to buy a tube pass for the day, for whichever zones the attractions are in that will be visited. London tube passes can also be used on all London buses, which means if the visitor wants to see where they are going this might provide a welcome difference from the tube. Tube tickets for zones 1 to 4, which include all the major attractions that visitors want to see, cost just £6 for an adult, £5 for a student or £1 for a child.

As well as walking, which is often a good idea in central London where things are so close together, riding the tube is probably seen as the best way to get around. London cabs are often quite expensive, so are best avoided if at all possible –unless at night, when they may sometimes be the safest travel option.
