London Nightlife
London is famous for its nightlife, both in this country and across the world.
It is often seen as one of the best places to have a night
out, and there are a great number of reasons for this.
As well as legendary nightclubs such as the Ministry of
Sound and Fabric, which are famous on an international
scale, there are also a very large number of venues that
offer a different experience, such as live comedy, live
jazz music, and cocktail bars.
The United Kingdom at the moment has a wealth of comedy
talent, as is seen on television comedy shows such as
Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Have I Got News for
You. The majority, although not all, of the comedians
that appear on shows such as these started their careers
in comedy clubs in London, doing stand up performances.
Venues such as these are found everywhere, and if amateur
comedy is not what you are looking for there will be even
more places to look. Well established comedy acts regularly
play venues such as the Hackney Empire and the O2 Arena
in Greenwich, and there are a very large number of tickets
available for shows such as these.
London clubbing is popular because of the fame that surrounds
nightclubs such as Mahiki, Fabric and the Ministry of
Sound. Clubbers looking for an intense night of music
regularly head to these places, as do many of this country’s
top celebrities. Mahiki regularly plays host to the popular
band Girls Aloud, for example, and even the royal Princes
William and Harry are known to enjoy nights out in London
clubs occasionally. Clubbers in London should be prepared
to have an amazing night, and to spend money –entry into
most clubs is around the £20 mark.
If you are looking for a place to have a quiet drink,
you will be spoilt for choice in London. Some of the most
popular bars are found in Piccadilly, and on the trendy
Brick Lane in east London. Places such as these will give
a much more relaxed atmosphere than the clubs, and are
often good places to begin the night. |
